Just a quick shout out to our new
Commander in Chief!
No matter your political views, you have to be excited about witnessing HISTORY!!! I loved his acceptance speech.

I feel like I must say....if only to myself...I may not agree with all of his political views (that's what checks and balances are for), but I think he has great character, expresses himself well, and has international appeal among many other traits.
He will make a great President.
I thought John McCain's concession speech was sincere and well said. Very Cool. If you missed it, it is a must read. http://www.johnmccain.com/splash110408.htm
Now, let's MOVE ON!!!
I would like to start my own "grassroots" movement. For the next 30 days, I vow not to use following words:
CHANGE
Maverik
Rhetoric
Bipartisan
Taxes
Swing STATE
Wall Street or Main Street
Whose with me?

I'm never one to agree with Bill Maher, but I actually felt the way he said when Obama won: kinda relieved. McCain was a horrible nominee - a Washington relic of the Old Guard - and we paid the price. Time for a complete reinvention of conservatism.
From Maher on Larry King:
King: Did the McCain campaign -- I know you admired him in the past -- did it disappoint you?
Maher: Terribly. I think it even disappointed the people who were voting for him. I sensed something in conservatives reacting to the election yesterday. Even the ones who voted for McCain, they sort of were relieved. I sensed that. It was like, yes, I guess I kind of had to pull the lever for McCain, but secretly a part of me knew that this country needed a breath of fresh air, needed a new kind of president, a new kind of politics, a new face, a smart guy, a flexible guy, a supple leader.
I "plugged" my nose and voted! I wasn't that happy with the outcome...but I am not sure I would have been happy if the other one won either! Hopefully we can all move forward!
I was so happy about the results of this election. President Obama (that's so fun to say) certainly gave a very moving, and inspirational acceptance speech. It was so amazing to be a part of such a historic period in our nation. I was impressed with John McCain as well. I appreciated very much his asking the citizens of our country to come together for the good of the people.
I also feel that President Elect Obama will lead our country well. In my opinion, he certainly has what it takes to help move our country in a positive direction.
I will join you in refraining to use the words that have been heavily used in this campaign season. You absolutely crack me up!
I'm with you! It was all very exciting to watch. I loved both speeches and recorded Obama's for my kids to watch.
I am with you on the words! Thinking about them make me want to gag! (do people say that anymore) anyway. Loved your post! Thanks for sharing!
(Chrissie told me about this post...and to be sure to read it)
