Pioneer Trek 2011
Tom & I were asked to be a "ma" & "pa" on our stake Pioneer Trek this summer. We had the most amazing experience. I am sure every couple feels this way about the kids in their family....but we seriously had the BEST kids!! We had 3 girls and 5 boys and not a complainer in the bunch. It was hot, dusty, tiring and unbelievably fulfilling to spend 3 days with these incredible young men and young women. It was so fun to get to know each one of them outside of their comfort zone. Like pioneers...each had their own story.
We had many more comforts than the pioneers and our "trek" was not nearly as long or as tragic at times, but what a cool way to experience just a hint of what it must have been like.

Casey & I got to be a ma & pa this summer, too! One phrase: Life Changer. What lucky kids to have you!!
I am so jealous. That's something that I would love to experience. As much as you loved your "kids," I am certain that they adored you and Tom as well!
