Jack's 2nd Grade Year has been kissed by an angel...
and Mrs. Bertram be thy name.
He has had such great experiences given to him this year that may not be fully appreciated right now. So.... I thought we should IMMORTALIZE them here and now.
(....and before this baby comes to distract me further. What? If you thought my posts were few and far between now, ....well. ;)
Mrs. Bertram has 29 (count 'em) 7/8 year olds this year to educate, enrich, and sometimes just get through the day. She is a huge fan of grant writing for the things she wants to see happen and we are huge fans of hers for it.
To name a few...
•Bus trips to a local retirement home where the kids read to and perform for the "grandparents."
•African drum lessons and storytelling by Zinse of Ghana, West Africa
•Help from the Utah Festival Opera to write, direct, and star in their own class opera.
Her energy and creativity is quite boundless and we are grateful to be on the receiving end.
And just for good measure, let's throw some pics of the ever lovable, 2nd Grade staple, "Flat Stanley" in front of the White House and Jack's term report on Tiger Sharks just to show he's got some balance.

What a great teacher...let's cross our fingers for her next year! Love the pic of Jack playing the violin!
Really nothing better than getting a teacher that truly inspires our children! That is awesome! Love the pictures!!! Good luck with your cute baby inside! Soooo excited for you guys!
Ditto to all you said. We are lucky aren't we? I'm kind of sad for this year to be over because then my boys have to move on from their awesome teachers, which means I have to leave them too. :( By the way, did Jackson's Flat Stanley go to D.C. too? That's where our Jack's Flat Stanley went also.
Hooray for Heritage! I love that school. It sounds like Jack is having a fantastic experience with Mrs. Bertram.
