Surge Baseball

We went to St George last weekend for our first "March Madness" baseball experience.  WOW!  

Complete madness.

48 teams in Jack's age category (10U)  alone.

Since we are fairly new to the competition baseball scene......I was so amazed at the production of it all.  Every team is guaranteed 4 games during the tournament.  We won 2 and lost 2. The boys (and coaches) felt really good about that considering the competition.  

We played 2 of our 4 games in Overton, NV.  

Where, you say?  Yes, Overton ... as in the small town in the middle of absolutely nowhere on your way to Lake Havasu.  It was actually quite an adventure as you can see from this picture that has no sign of baseball in it.  This was game #4 and James had......well......he'd HAD IT!!  

He had already smacked his head on the bleachers (top right bruise.)  Then, due to the hot & very dry weather, he got a bloody nose out of nowhere that we couldn't stop for the longest time.  Have you ever tried to explain to a 1+ year old why he needs to keep tissue stuffed up his nose?  It was less than pretty.  All in all, we had a really fun trip.  

I am starting to love baseball.  Who knew?!
