Tri-Wizard Tournament...
with a twist.

Mrs. Voss' Piano Recital October 2011

Jackson and Aspen recently played in their 1st piano recital.  To say their teacher went above and beyond would be a HUGE understatement!!!  This amazing woman, Mrs. Voss, transformed a local piano store into a scene straight out of Harry Potter.  They all played songs from the HP movies or with a Halloween theme.
It was truly UNBELIEVABLE.
Since this was a FIRST (& Jack had only been playing for 3 weeks) I was really nervous for them.  I thought, for sure, Aspen wouldn't make it up there.  She wouldn't leave my side... so I found myself sitting on the front row with all the students (crouching down so parents could see over me) waiting for an embarrassing scene to ensue.  Somewhere along the lines of "I'm not going up there...good luck making me!"  As Mrs. Voss pulled the first students name (not Aspens or Jacks) out of her self created "Goblet of Fire," I was relieved that she could see at least one person do it and live before she completed freaked out.  She was holding my arm so tight, her knuckles were white and I thought that she (or I) might pass out.  Two names. Three names.  Then, "Aspen Telford."  She stood up, didn't look at me, said her name in the mic, even read the trivia question they'd each been given....and played her song perfectly.  She KILLS me.   Jack was amazing as well.  He didn't act nervous at all, which I'm sure he was. He just walked right up and played his "Haunted Staircase" like he'd been playing for.....well, longer than 3 weeks!  ;)  I gotta admit, it was a PROUD PARENT moment for both of us.  It is always so amazing for me to watch our kids do the "hard" things in their lives. No matter the level.

So fun to watch neigborhood friends perform as well!

Yep.
She had robes. wands. ties. glasses. An entire Hogsmeade candy store.
The whole....nine....yards.
Thanks for a magical night, Mrs. Voss.
You are a wonder!
