Our first.
I had no idea the pressure I would feel on behalf of a wood/cardboard 18 wheeler. I am such a rookie. Apparently we were lucky enough to have our first experience coincide with the
100th year celebration of Boy Scouts of America
Thus.....the 18 wheeler. Connection? No idea.
If you know...please enlighten me.
I hate to admit that I was nervous for him, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't. Just ask Tom. Not so much that he would win, but that he wouldn't lose. What kind of mother am I? Isn't this just the life's lesson I am striving to teach him everyday?
Do your best.
Don't worry about what other people are doing or what their truck looks like.
Learn a new skill. (with your Dad doing the lion's share)
Have fun.
Be a good sport.
Trust me, I was all of that on the outside....
Then why was I practically purple willing his car to the finish line?
In the end, he didn't win, but he was ALL smiles.
Lesson learned.
mostly by me

Cute! I am glad lessons were learned by all! You are such a good mom!
Ahhh, the pinewood derby caused a bit of tension and stress in our home! It was hard to figure it all out, being the first timers and all!
One down.... many to go!!!!
