My mother-in-law and I took Aspen to see The Nutcracker for her first time.
It was truly magical.
Like many of you, I'm sure, I have seen this festive holiday ballet nearly a hundred times....but this was like seeing it for the first time.
SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
She sat still (mostly.) She asked a million questions in her very best whisper. And I can't lie....I honestly cried through the entire First Act watching her. She was so mesmerized. The Nutcracker was such a part of my own childhood I couldn't believe how touched I was by her reaction. Then, at the end of Act I (just before my favorite part .... the snow scene) as Clara's Godfather Drosselmeier is creating her dream, Aspen leans over and says, "Mom, that guy looks like Michael Jackson."
Oh forget it.

what a special night for the both you. penny really is a dream!
Liza,
Love you and all your little obsessions. Curt got me tickets to this for our anniversary once and afterwards vowed he would never go through that again. And my mother in law took all her granddaughters & their moms to it a couple weeks ago. Me & the other sister in law w/o boys didn't get invited. So unless I can pull a little lady out of the sky someday, I might have to ask you if I can tag along.... Merry Christmas and glad you had fun!
I laughed so hard at the Michael Jackson comment. That is perfect!
I used to love the Nutcracker when I was little too:) I'm cracking up at her comments though!
That is soo much fun! We can't wait to start taking Lauryn and Clara!!!!
