Jack started Cub Scouts.
Last night was our first Pack Meeting. ever.
I feel like we are experiencing a lot of "firsts" right now.....and I seem to be tearing up over every last one of them. I ask you, "have you ever found yourself misty-eyed at pack meeting?" What the.... embarrassing! Watching Jack, watch the older "cubs" "post the flag" and say the pledge of allegiance with his little two finger salute for the first time...it was KILLIN' me! (The best part was, due to his left-handedness, he automatically raised his left hand trying to mimic the other cubs and realized mid-pledge. :)

The scout I send out the door...
(untucked & un"patched" as of yet)
isn't he sweet?

The scout that the den leaders receive. guaranteed.
Bless you both.

I can't believe he is a cub scout!! You do have a lot of firsts going on around there...I think I would be tearing up too! Way to go Jack!

I am right there with you. Turning eight is a BIG deal round these parts. To many mommy tears shed this year.

P.S. I think my cousin is in your ward...Alissa Cowdin.

They grow up too fast. I keep telling Adalynn I think she's been second graded ( shes a lot of fun and it's a good thing I just really miss my kindergartner.) Jackson and Aspen are both very cute and it's apparent they both pack a lot of personality.

BtW. I swear I've had great intentions about bringing you an official thank you note for Charlies wonderful blanket and silky...; but i still want to say thanks in case it takes a while. It's the cutest. Adam keeps getting frustrated because I bring it in Charlies car seat everywhere we go. (he gets a little warm) but its just too cute.I'm afraid he's now addicted to the smaller one cause he (we) can't live without it. You are both so thoughtful.

Aaahhh. Scouts. An organization I will in some way be involved with for what seems like the rest of my life and into the eternities. A perk of having my own pack of boys. And just to have a little more sympathy for the den leaders-multiply that pic of Jack by 10 and that's a den meeting. Every week.

He looks so cute! For the life of me, I can't figure out the best way to sew on the patches. Give me some advice when you figure it out, ya?

He looks so much like dad. Put the picture in black and white.. flash back to the 50's. I tear up myself hearing you..
Don't worry you will do it all again, and yes it will flash by all over again.

I get to watch through you what is lurking around the corner for me...I don't know why I honestly never realized scouts started at eight, until just recently. These milestones are killing me, but so fun to watch them be so excited about reaching them...your doing good kid!
