Family Ski Day

I feel like Tom and I have waited for this day forever.....o.k. maybe just since Jack was born.

On our first date, Tom took me night skiing at Powder Mountain...January 1994! Let me assure you that your (you know who you are) black "stretchy" ski pants are no warmer at night than we made ourselves believe they were during the day! I digress. We knew, once we married, we couldn't wait to get our whole family on the slopes....and yesterday was that day.

We really didn't know how Penny would do, but she LOVED it! As long as she could do "french fries" (straight skis) and no "pizzas" (the all too important WEDGE) she was just fine.

She hauled.

Tom shadowed her down the hill, often skate skiing to catch up and then grab her between his legs as she started to wobble. When it was my turn to chase we inevitably ended up on the ground.

Jack took a boarding lesson in the morning and then showed us his new moves all afternoon. Most of which was switching his front foot without intending to. The look on his face when he stayed on his feet after said "switch" was PRICELESS!

It was a great day.

Liza! How fun. The picture on the lift is priceless. I can hardly wait until the whole fam can hit the slopes together, in oh, say 4 years! Your family is darling, and I still love ya dearly!

I'm SO jealous! Chris and I have been wanting to take the two older kids skiing as well. Actually, I had decided I may try boarding with Chris. HOWEVER, Ian broke his arm this weekend so I guess the family ski day will have to wait until next year. :(

Stinkin' cute pics, by the way...

That is so cute! We had one moment last year that all of us made it to the ski slopes as a family. It was a short lived moment but very fun. I'm sure your kids will have many more of those days knowing Tom! Aspen is darling and I bet Jack is awesome at boarding - how could Tom allow it?!
